We purchased a new horse and named her Silver. All three kids enjoy riding her, along with their daddy. Their mommy, now that's a different story. She seems to have not gotten over a childhood fear. Maybe Silver will change her mind!

Baptism #2

Ryann is baptized!! That's two down and 1 to go. It was a great baptism.. and we loved seeing all the family there. Ryann was so happy and "feels" that much older. Taygen is anticipating his now.. but has 2 years to go! We love our little sweethearts and are so proud of them for their decisions to get baptized!

This is our Bella- 8wk old Beagle...our newest member of the Peterson Clan. And I still ask myself, what was I thinking? It seems when I have it really good, I go and mess everything up. I have all three kids in school full time this year. Completely free..and what do I go and do? Add another responsibility for years and years to come. Hmm, don't I ever learn? Good thing she is so adorable!

What a thrill to have our first child baptized. I was strangely calm throughout the whole thing and even before in the planning stages. Kapri was so beautiful in her white baptism dress. She was so excited.. smiling all day. We had so many friends neighbors and family support us. When Kapri came out of the water she said "Mom, my skin is so smooth!" I told her " and very clean!" She is excited to be a member of the church now. Ryann is anxiously waiting for her turn in November. I just love my kids and I am so grateful for their good choices!

Halloween Time

We went to my sister's church Halloween party up in Saratoga Springs. The kids had a blast.. with food, games, and picture taking.

They even got to go up on the stage and reach in boxes to feel things like "brains" or "guts". .. of course it was all food items, but that is just thrilling to kids. We all had a great time. Kapri was a "hippy" Ryann was a "pirate" and Taygen was "Thomas The Train". The party idea was last minute and so we had to borrow costumes from Kathy's kids. They had a great backdrop for taking pictures. Kathy jumped in with Steve even though they weren't dressed up. She just wanted a cute picture with her hubby. I didn't have Dustin with me so I didnt bother. Their cousins in the picture are Rebecca as a "gangster" Sierra as a "geisha" and Lewie as "Ben Ten".

Dustin went camping with the guys and came back looking like this. He hit a rock going 30 mph and flew off his motorcycle.. which then landed on him and they skidded together until they stopped. His helmet saved his life. The chin section busted completely off. Thank goodness we still have our daddy!

Mapleton Stake Harvest Fair 2008
We always participate in the Petting Zoo portion of the fair. The kids love to bring their animals for others to enjoy. Ryann and Taygen entered the baking contest too this year and won 2nd place for their Autumn Acorn cookies.

More summer fun!

Our favorite activity for the summer is boating. We go out onto the Utah Lake and meet Kathy and family. We anchor the boats and play at Sandy Beach. We also love camping but haven't been able to do any yet this summer. We do have two camping trips planned for the end of August.

I can't believe school is starting in 9 days. I will have all three kids in school. I guess I can look forward to lots of homework (for me!) and lots of school functions to attend. Taygen is so small but I think he is ready for Kindergarten. I get to look for things to do now for 2 1/2 hrs a day all by myself... poor me. Hee!
Kapri and I are in a Broadway Shows play. We have opening night this Friday, August 15th. Kapri is in the "Go Go Joseph" number and I am in Grease "We go together", "Go Go Joseph", and the Spamalot number "He is not yet dead". I get to play a munk. It should be a fun show to do. It is just one or two numbers from different broadway shows. I am glad it only runs for 5 nights with school starting up.

July Fun!

We have been so busy this month. I thought after June we were going to slow down.
We had an unexpected trip to Idaho the weekend of July 17-20. Dustin's uncle Lamar had finally passed on after battling cancer for 10 years. He was such a sweet man and we absolutely adore his wife Aunt Daleen, that we just had to go and spend the weekend with all the family. We stayed at Lonni and Byron's place in Eagle and all had a blast. Lots of good times, laughing, swimming, and even visiting with my folks who came down from La Grande, Oregon to see us in Boise. That was a great trip. Kapri rode a horse over at Dustin's cousin's place in Middleton. Kapri had a great time and is getting so good at riding. She has been doing lessons now for 2 months. She is such a natural.
July 24-26-After the kids ran the mile run at 7 am and riding in the Mapleton Parade at 9am with our family, our minature horses and buggy, we headed to Ogden/Layton area. We stayed in the Comfort Suites Hotel from Thursday-Saturday in Ogden. We went to the Dinosaur Park up in Ogden and the Train Museum (Tay's favorite stop) and then onto Lagoon on Saturday. We had so much fun there too. We swam at night in the pool and even taught the kids "Marco Polo"... first time playing it for them. We had lots of swim races and the girls are really picking up the swimming strokes fast. We stopped at the Farr Ice Shop for some yummy ice cream. There are so many interesting flavors now. Taygen had the Playdough ice cream, Kapri went with Supreme Chocolate, and Ryann had the Banana Fudge. We did a lot of walking all weekend and my feet are so sore. The kids got to ride in a wagon the whole time at Lagoon.. so no complaining on their end. The kids are getting older now and can go on most of the rides, which is fun for me! Ryann even went on her first roller coaster. She was frightened to death, but said she really enjoyed it afterwards. Taygen really enjoyed the bumper cars. We were surprised how well he could drive the little car. It was over 100 degrees each day and boy, did we feel it! We all loved the water rides the best!
Overall.. I just love simple family trips.. they are the absolute best! (I will put on some pictures when I get a chance to load them).

Peterson Park City Day

The Petersons planned a day up at Park City. We went during 4th of July weekend when we all had the day off. Lance and Cyndi, Rod and Roeen, and all of us. Jodi and her family couldn't make it. They have really added alot of neat stuff since the 2002 Olympics came. We had a great time riding the Alpine Slide, the Roller Coaster, the Human Maze, and watching Kapri take a hour long guided Horse Ride up along the Mountain trail. She rode a horse named "Blaze" that will be in a movie coming up that Robert De Niro rode on. She went alone without any of us. She was truly in her element up on that mountain. We went out to eat and did a little outlet store shopping. It was a lot of fun.

June news

Summer is here and we seem to still be busy. But, a fun kind of busy. We are involved in softball games, cheer camp, horse lessons, along with Kapri's favorite rodeo sheep. We would appreciate if the weather would cooperate with us so we can hit the water too. We took the boat out last weekend and about got blown away. We also enjoyed ourselves at the Fun A Rama in Springville, face painting, rock climbing, magic show, and lots of other stuff.
We have been tending a neighbor's baby boy (1 yr) named Gage (pictured in photo with the kids) and we have all been enjoying him. It is fun to have a baby around the house again, and even more fun to say goodnight to him and return him to his family. I guess that is how being a grandma feels! So far so good around here...

I cant believe Tay will graduate from Preschool tomorrow and Ryann from Kindergarten the next day. Kapri will wrap up 1st grade in a week. It is so great to have reached this milestone in my life. I look back at the previous years of heartache, the longing for children and I am so thankful to be a MOM. They are all three so beautiful, clever, funny and so strong. Kids are the best!

We seem to have become addicted to cruising. When we come home, we start planning the next one. We have been on two, but have more in mind. We first did the Western Caribbean and then the Mexican Riviera. We hope to do the Eastern Caribbean, a Hawaiian cruise, and possibly some day a European one. The kids want to go with us next time on the "big" boat. We are discussing a Disney cruise next although Dustin doesn't believe children should go on a cruise! I'll have to do some convincing I guess.
